This is an original Unfolded 1970's Tribute Poster (measures 25 1/4" x 35 1/4" [64 x 90 cm]) that created a fictional promotional poster for LOU REED 'S RAINBOW THEATRE LONDON UK CONCERT NOV. 25TH -26TH 1976 CONCERT.  I have sent two of these posters to eMoviePoster for their auctions and this posters auctioning resulted in one sale for and another for recently. I have therefor reduced my price to the current price. NOTE- I was contacted by a fellow with a very nice website http://www.rainbowhistory.x10.mx/1976.htm that has a very interesting story about this poster who used to actually work at the Rainbow theatre at this time , according to him there was no such concert! but this poster was created by a fan in the seventies - yet it still remains to me as a very interesting relic of the period and is still from the 1970's or early eighties (I bought them in the 1990's) and still is a very well printed poster of LOU REED and only offered as such.
Lou Reed was born in Brooklyn in 1942. He's most famous from the rock group "The Velvet Underground" and as a cult songwriter. He worked with many different musicians including David Bowie, Nico, Metallica, and The Killers. Perhaps his best remembered songs are "Walk on the Wild Side" and "Sweet Jane". He passed away in 2013. THE GUY WHO USED TO WORK AT THE RAINBOW'S WEBSITE SAYS THIS - IT WAS PRINTED BY ONE OF LOU REED'S FANS FOR A MAKE BELIEVE CONCERT AT THE RAINBOW THEATRE IN LONDON U.K. ON 25th AND 25th NOVEMBER 1976. APPARENTLY, THIS PARTICULAR FAN WAS MEANT TO HAVE SEEN LOU REED AT A PREVIOUS CONCERT AT THE RAINBOW THEATRE, BUT COULDN'T MAKE IT DUE TO ILL HEALTH SO HE DECIDED TO PRINT HIS OWN CONCERT POSTER FOR HIS MAKE BELIEVE CONCERT THAT NEVER ACTUALLY TOOK PLACE!!! IT WAS DONE FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL AMUSEMENT AND FOR HIMSELF . It is on very high quality paper and certainly extremely convincing as a actual authentic venue promo poster, and of course it may be just that as both eMoviePoster and myself have been contacted by this guy and are forwarding this persons story and claims here.
Add 9.25% sales tax if your a California resident. I don't sell unlicensed reprints, especially by misrepresenting them as original , all auctions are for theatrical distribution studio issued one sheet size 27 by 40 inch original movie posters unless otherwise noted. EBAY now requires all order checkout's be performed on Ebay only - so if your buying multiple posters or item's and they can be shipped together EBAY DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY COMBINE THEM in the checkout - I suggest just allowing me a day to adjust the shipping charges to reflect the combining shipping discounts - sadly Ebay's checkout doesn't caculate combined shipping discounts like my vendio account did just fine - so you must wait to pay until I have a chance to do this manually on your invoice before you pay if your ordering multiple posters.
